The School of Health invites offer holders for BSc Nursing and MSc Pre-registration Nursing programmes to a clinical skills masterclass in our simulation suite. The session provides a realistic preview of practical teaching methods used throughout the degree, including vital signs assessment, infection control procedures and communication scenarios with simulated patients.
Academic staff and current nursing students facilitate small-group rotations through simulation stations. Participants receive feedback on technique and learn how clinical placements integrate with campus-based teaching. A briefing covers NHS values, professional conduct and the support available from link lecturers during placements across the West Midlands.
The masterclass is free and includes light refreshments. Places are limited to 40 participants to maintain safe supervision ratios in the simulation environment. Offer holders may bring one guest who waits in the School of Health reception area during the practical session.
This event took place in March 2026 as part of our spring applicant engagement programme. Similar sessions will be scheduled for 2027 offer holders in spring 2027; register interest through the nursing applicant portal to receive notification when booking opens.
