International Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships of £3,000 per year are awarded to outstanding international undergraduate and postgraduate applicants across all faculties. Selection considers academic achievement, personal statement quality and potential to contribute to the university community. Apply by submitting a scholarship statement with your programme application; deadline 31 March for September entry.

Scholarships continue for each year of study subject to satisfactory academic progress at 2:1 equivalent or above for postgraduates and 60 per cent average for undergraduates.

Luma offers dedicated scholarships for students from selected countries including India, Nigeria, Malaysia and Pakistan. Awards range from £2,000 to £5,000 per year and may combine with Vice-Chancellor's scholarships up to a maximum total discount of £5,000 annually.

Country-specific eligibility and deadlines are published on regional pages of the international website. Early application is essential as funds are limited.

Students should explore scholarships from their home governments, the British Council, Chevening, Commonwealth Scholarships and industry sponsors. The international admissions team maintains resources listing major external funding opportunities by nationality.

Funded students must notify the Finance Office of sponsor payment schedules to ensure CAS and enrolment proceed smoothly.

International applicants referred by Luma alumni receive a £500 tuition discount upon enrolment. The alumnus must complete a referral form before the applicant submits their programme application. Discount applies to first year only and cannot combine with full tuition scholarships.
