Industry Partnerships

The extended five-year partnership with Jaguar Land Rover funds scholarships, industrial placements and joint research in electric vehicle technology. Over 200 engineering students have completed placements at Gaydon and Whitley since 2018. A joint research centre on campus tests drivetrain components.

Partnership-funded PhD researchers begin October 2026, splitting time between university and company facilities.

Over 120 schools partner on initial teacher training, providing placements and employing Luma PGCE graduates. Research collaborations evaluate literacy interventions and SEND inclusion strategies. The School of Education's allocation to train 180 teachers annually depends on these partnerships.

Headteachers sit on advisory boards informing programme design.

The Business School connects students with Midlands SMEs through consultancy projects, placements and networking events. Local councils collaborate on policy research in planning, social care and economic development. Technology firms partner with the Centre for Digital Innovation on AI and cybersecurity projects.
